Why is strength training so important? It's for people who drive cars with a license late that says MUSCL3S isn't it...? Also, why do many of us spend months and even years in the gym lifting weights and / or doing group exercise classes without seeing the results we'd hoped for considering the time and effor we have made?
This is because you are probably going to the gym and doing an ineffective workout programme. We will create a programme that is designed for you that incorporates the key elements of how to change your body and get stronger:
- Overload
- Progression
- Specificity
- Regularity
- Recovery
- Variety
Ok I see how you can create a programme bespoke for me but is strength training really the answer…? Surely, I should be doing burpees whilst someone screams at me!?!
- You want to lose some body fat, yeah?
- You want to tone up?
- You want to build some muscle? (Make wobbly bits hard)
- You want your clothes to fit better or drop a dress size or 3? Am I right?
Strength Training
When we meet, I can talk to you about ‘Toning up’ being a myth and a marketing term, but we don’t have time right now. If you want to achieve results that make your friends, family and colleagues’ comment on how you’ve lost weight, how good you’re looking or ask if you ‘work out’ and alongside this, feel strong and confident… Strength train.
Ladies, you won’t get ‘too bulky’ you will get lean and look toned (Gah! Toning isn’t a thing!!!)
Chaps, you won’t end up like one of those perma-tanned guys with 8 packs who unbutton their shirts at family weddings just to post on the gram. (unless you want to). But you will get in the best shape of your life.
